ITSC1004 — Tech Skills for DMC Students
This hybrid course introduces students to the technical skills needed to succeed at Del Mar College, particularly the skills needed for online courses. Topics include basic computer skills, how to use the most common browsers to search the Internet; Google Drive; Microsoft Office 365 and Canvas, which is the system used for taking online courses at Del Mar College. Other topics include a brief overview of how to communicate using social media and how to use apps on your mobile device. After completion of this course, the student will be able to Demonstrate basic computer skills; Name ways to use the most common browsers to search the Internet; Describe Google Drive; Identify ways to use Microsoft Office 365; Discuss Techniques to take a course using Canvas; and identify ways to communicate using social media as well as apps on a mobile device.
