Course Description: Applying the understanding of the camera settings and functions from Camera Basics 1 to capture high-quality images. Focusing on the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and ISO, you will no longer need to set your camera to auto to create beautiful images. Learning to understand light, composition and techniques in shooting a variety of subjects will make you a better photographer. Introduction to composition styles, such as the rule of thirds, shallow depth of field and framing your subject, will help you in the creative process. Be sure to bring your camera and lenses for some practice shots during class with hands-on assistance from the instructor. Camera Recommendations: The instructor recommends using either a DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) camera or a mirrorless camera for this course. Reputable brands such as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, and Olympus all offer excellent options. While both types of cameras are suitable, DSLRs are generally more budget-friendly for beginners. Registration Information: To register for class, you must have an active Tri-C student number.
