It meets the College Reading and Learning Association training program requirements and is designed to help student tutors learn to communicate clearly and effectively with students needing academic assistance. Course content includes learning theories, tutorial techniques, program procedures and responsibilities, and tutoring practice. Note: To be considered for Compton College employment as a tutor, students need to have completed the courses they wish to tutor with a final grade of B or better. The recommendation of the appropriate instructor is also necessary.
