Instruction and demonstration of basic and advanced technical skills, rules of the game, tactics and strategies and situational play will be presented. Exercise training specific to the physical demands of slow pitch softball will be included, as well as discussions on the health aspects of the sport and strategies of safety. Students successfully completing this course will acquire the skills and knowledge to enjoy slow pitch softball as a lifelong sport. Students assess health-related components of fitness, set fitness goals, and monitor progression. Special emphasis is paid to the design and execution of a personalized exercise prescription.
