MATH 190 — Single Variable Calculus and Analytic Geometry I
Units: 5 Lecture Hours: 90 Lab Hours: 0 Outside Hours: 180 Grading Method: Letter Credit Status: Credit, degree applicable Conditions of Enrollment: Prerequisite: MATH 180 with a minimum grade of C or placement by multiple measures, see page 201. This is the first of a three-course sequence in calculus primarily for Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Majors. Topics included are: limits and continuity, differentiation of algebraic, transcendental and inverse functions, applications of differentiation, implicit differentiation, anti-derivatives and indefinite integrals, definite integrals, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, and applications of integration. Graphing calculators or related software will be used for selected topics. Note: The maximum UC credit allowed for calculus is one course from either MATH 165 or MATH 160 or MATH 161 or MATH 190 or MATH 191.
