This course is designed to meet the minimum requirements for training as required by Penal Code Section 832 and certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P .O.S.T.). The course is certified by P .O.S.T. in the areas of laws of arrest, ethical use of force, arrest and control methods, and firearms training. The course has 38 hours of lecture covering California laws of arrest and firearms, and 34 hours of lab activity on arrest and control methods, and the use of firearms. The course will enhance an individual's ability to meet the State's minimum requirements for employment in a law enforcement or allied agency. Note: Students pay fees for this course for Department of Justice background check and clearance, firing range, ammunition and targets.
