ESLC0305 — ESL Listening/Speaking Intermediate
ESLC 0305 - ESL Listening/Speaking Intermediate ESLC 0305 - ESL Listening/Speaking Intermediate Develops listening and speaking skills in speakers of languages other than English and prepares them to function in educational, vocational and/or personal English-speaking contexts. Additionally, emphasis is placed on developing non-native speakers’ intermediate listening and speaking skills to facilitate natural communication. Speaking skills are developed through individual presentations and interactions in pairs, small groups, and large groups. Listening skills are developed through classroom interactions, outside assignments, and video and audio clips designed to enhance non-native speaker’s skills in understanding both formal and informal speech in English. Focus is given to students’ spoken grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and exposure to U.S. culture. Lab Required: Yes Note: May not be used to satisfy the requirements of an associate degree. ESLC 0305, ESLC 0310 , ESLC 0325 , and ESLX 0305 may be taken for a combined total of no more than 9 credit hours. Type of Course: Developmental
