Chicano Studies (A.A.)
The mission of the Chicano Studies Department is to develop in students the academic tools to recognize, critically understand, and appreciate the social, historical, and continuing cultural significance of the Mexican American, Chicana (o), and all Latinx communities. Chicano Studies Faculty prepare students to major in Chicano Studies with the option to transfer to four-year universities, actively participate in the workplace, and to effect positive change as it relates to local, national, and global purposes.
