SLP 100 — Introduction to Speech and Language Pathology

This course is designed to provide students with an orientation to the field of communication disorders. Students will learn about the career pathways and scope of practice for occupations within the field. Concepts of disability, ethical principles, evidence-based practice, and professional conduct will be discussed. Students will also be introduced to the American Psychological Association (APA) style of writing and learning strategies to prepare them for success in the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Program.
