The focus of this course is on the theory and clinical application of the Nursing Process and the Roy Adaptation Model when providing care for patients with complex medical-surgical conditions in acute care settings. Continued emphasis is placed on the role of the nurse as a manager of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The student must receive a 'C" grade or better in the lecture component and a satisfactory grade in clinical lab in order to pass the course.
