DH 444 — Ethics, Law and Practice Management

Intended for students accepted in the Dental Hygiene Baccalaureate Degree Program. This course will investigate ethical issues, dilemmas, and the State Dental Practice Act that affect the standards of behavior for the dental hygienist. Principles of general and biomedical ethics, business practices, finance, and management will be applied to common examples of situations faced by dentists and hygienists in today’s dental practice. The course prepares students to take the California Dental Hygiene Law & Ethics exam, required for licensing as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
