ASL 111 — American Sign Language II
takes students who have some knowledge of basic and beginning sign language to the point where they can function comfortably in a wide variety of situations in the Deaf community. Since students will most likely continue their learning in the Deaf community, it is essential that they learn appropriate behaviors and show awareness of, and respect for Deaf culture. Deaf culture is taught throughout the curriculum using total immersion of American Sign Language. This course uses multimedia presentations, activities, and exercised practice using American Sign Language. This course is not open to students who have received credit in SL 102.
