SPAN 1101 — | INTRODUCTION TO SPANISH LANGUAGE
AND CULTURE I (45-0-3) A beginner’s introduction to the Spanish language and culture. This course stresses the student’s ability to acquire a non-native language and to communicate effectively in the target Spanish language. Emphasis is placed on reading, writing, and speaking the language. An overview of Hispanic society is also emphasized, highlighting the differences between American and Hispanic cultures. Prerequisite: Appropriate placement test score
