Total Hours 15 ACADEMIC PROGRAMS CENTRAL GEORGIA TECHNICAL COLLEGE MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY (CLT3) Associate Degree The Medical Laboratory Technology program is an Associate of Applied Science degree program where students learn to perform medical laboratory procedures under the supervision of a qualified pathologist and/or medical laboratory scientist. Classroom training is integrated with medical experiences under the medical direction of cooperating hospitals. Graduation from this program allows students to take a national certification examination which is necessary for clinical employment. Employment in doctors’ offices and hospital laboratories requires a minimum of an associate degree in this field.
