ENG 2143 — American Literature I
Prerequisite: ~ENG 1003 Freshman English I, with a grade of “C” or higher. It is strongly recommended that students complete ~ENG 1013 Freshman English II, with a grade of “C” or higher as well. This course will focus on American literature from Native American works through 1865. Students will learn about various cultures, ideas, genres, and literary techniques. Students will explore “Americanness,” analyze and interpret various works, write an analysis, and reflect on the relationship between literature, culture, and society.
