MATH 228 - Probability and Statistics MATH 228 - Probability and Statistics This class discusses descriptive and inferential methods of statistics with the emphasis on applications related to business situations. It includes data collection methods, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, correlation, regression, analysis of variance, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, basic probability theory, distributions of random variables, and the use of computer packages or graphing calculators for analysis of data. If taking MATH 108 or MATH 108C , and MATH 228, one course can count as general education and the other course as an elective toward graduation. 1
