HIM 257 - Proced & Diagnosis Coding I HIM 257 - Proced & Diagnosis Coding I This course introduces students to medical coding for procedures and diagnoses using CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding systems. Students learn to translate diagnoses, procedures, services, and supplies into numeric and alphanumeric codes for accurate statistical reporting, billing, and reimbursement. Emphasis is placed on identifying primary diagnoses, applying V and E codes, using reference materials to ensure coding accuracy, and understanding evaluation and management (E/M) coding, including levels of service and the proper use of modifiers.
