ESL 053 - Foundations II ESL 053 - Foundations II This course is intended for the student who has limited proficiency in reading and writing English. Since the course takes the reading to write approach, the reading provides the ideas, vocabulary and language structure that students will use when they write. Basic reading comprehension, vocabulary skills and dictionary skills will be taught. The themes of the readings will progress from the everyday world of the student to the world in general. Students will learn to write sentences and guided and unguided paragraphs. 4
