EMS 110 - Paramedic Theory I EMS 110 - Paramedic Theory I Prepare individuals to complete preparation for paramedic certification. This eight-week course includes the roles and responsibilities of the paramedic, bloodborne pathogens, documentation & communication in EMS, medical records & HIPAA policies, Medical/Legal/Ethical considerations, anatomy and physiology of cells, tissues, muscular system, respiratory and cardiovascular systems, techniques for administration of medications and fluid resuscitation and an in-depth look at assessment and interventions for respiratory and cardiovascular conditions. Cardiac electrophysiology and EKG interpretation are also included. Concurrent enrollment in EMS 114 .
Prerequisites: EMS100, EMS102, MATH070, COMM100, ENG101, ENG101C, EMS114
