EDUC 202 - Multicultural/Soc Found of Ed EDUC 202 - Multicultural/Soc Found of Ed This course provides an introduction to the social, cultural, and linguistic factors that influence teaching and learning in today’s schools. Students explore how family background, community context, culture, language, and social structures shape educational experiences from early childhood through adolescence. Emphasis is placed on understanding diverse learners, promoting equitable practices, and examining how schools can create inclusive and empowering learning environments. A grade of C or higher is required for transfer into teacher education programs. Ten hours of observation are required in a K-12 setting, including at least one experience with students who are English Language Learners (ELLs). 1
