HIST 4143 — Native American History

A survey of Native American history from the Archaic period to the present. This course will present an interpretation of the historical experience of the various nations native to North America utilizing an ethno- historical approach. Some emphasis will be placed on the formation and operation of United States government policy regarding Native Americans in both the 19th and 20th centuries.
