Health Studies, Associate of Applied Science
Designed to help students obtain a job in healthcare while working towards finishing the degree. Introduces students to the language of health care, human body structure and functions, microorganisms, health and nutrition concepts, behavioral and mental processes, medical ethics, emergency medical services, and phlebotomy/laboratory skills. Does not lead to a professional credential or state licensure but prepares students for roles in community health, support services, health care navigation, medical sales, and patient services. Has an MOU with Arkansas State University–Jonesboro for transferability.
