Students must comply with the Department of Long Term Care hour requirements for completion of 84 hours of theory and 16 hours of clinical experience. Certificate of Proficiency in Phlebotomy 13 Credit Hours The Phlebotomy Technician Program teaches students the hands-on skills of drawing blood specimens for laboratory testing and analysis. Successful completion of the program prepares students for the national certification examination. Enrollment Requirements Students must: • be at least 18 years of age by time of completion. • have a high school diploma or equivalent at the time of application. • submit to substance abuse screening and criminal background check during the first week of class. • be accepted into the program* *Even if admission requirements are met, not all applicants may be immediately accepted for admission due to program enrollment limits.
