MACH 1153 — Surface Grinding
Sem: F/S 1 Lec./4 Lab Hrs./week This course introduces students to the care and operation of basic machine tools measuring instruments, and shop safety procedures. Combining lecture and on-line learning for the class component with hands-on applications in the machining lab, students will learn the surface grinding machine’s function and components. Students will identify and use various grinding wheels, and workholding techniques common to precision grinding. In addition students will grind parallel, perpendicular, and angular surfaces to print specifications. Students must demonstrate competency in core course objectives through practical applications. A lab fee is required.
