AMTA 1501 — Communication and Navigation Systems
Sem: F/S/Su 7 Lec. /14 Lab Hrs. Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Certificate of Proficiency in Aviation General Maintenance Technology. Students will learn to inspect, check, and troubleshoot autopilot, servos, and approach coupling systems. Students will also learn to inspect, check, and service aircraft electronic communication and navigation systems, including very high frequency (VHF) passenger address interphones and static discharge devices, aircraft very high frequency omnidirectional range (VOR), instrument landing system (ILS), Long Range Aid to Navigation (LORAN), radar beacon transponders, flight management computers, and ground proximity warning system (GPWS). Student will also learn to inspect and repair antenna and electronic equipment installations. A lab fee is required.
