AVI 110 — Aviation Maintenance – Gen: This course
introduces general subjects related to all aspects of aircraft maintenance. Emphasis is placed on fundamentals of electricity, drawings, weight and balance, fluid lines and fittings, materials, hardware and processes, ground ops and servicing, cleaning and corrosion, mathematics, regulations, maintenance forms records and publications, physics for aviation, inspection concepts, and human factors. Upon completion, students should be prepared to pass the FAA knowledge, oral, and practical exams for the general portion of the mechanic’s certificate with either the airframe or powerplant ratings.
