COMM 1A — Introduction to Speech
Interactive course introducing the theory and practice of communication, rhetoric, and public speaking: Students will deliver informative and persuasive speeches, learn about key areas in communication studies, such as speaking in a democratic society, rhetorical theory, active listening, intercultural and interpersonal communication, and small group communication, and provide peer speeches. Focus on confidence building.
